Adults

I enjoy working with adults who are ready for meaningful change. I provide support, encouragement, and the safety of a therapeutic relationship within which we will explore longings and long-standing patterns in service of creating deeper self-awareness and lasting change.

Using a compassionate, curious, nonjudgmental approach, we will work together to identify patterns of interacting and reacting that may be creating obtacles. By increasing awareness and developing more self-understanding, my hope is that you will develop the capacity to respond to new and existing stressors with greater ease, empathy, and clarity.

Some of the issues I work with:
  • Anxiety/Depression
  • Grief and Loss
  • High sensitivity (HSP)
  • Life Transitions
  • Parenting
  • Perfectionism
  • Pregnancy/Postpartum
  • Relationship challenges
  • Trauma
  • Work and Fulfillment

Children and Teens

All children have struggles and it can sometimes be hard to know if therapy is the next best step. Parents know their children better than anyone and while they often know when something has gone off course, it's not always easy to know how to best help their child. Giving children support and skills at an early age can improve mental health outcomes throughout life.

Teens sometime may need support from an ally outside the family as they move into phases of life that involve more independence.

I provide therapy based on the developmental needs of children and teens, using therapeutic play and age-appropriate activities. I am a Registered Play Therapist with the Association for Play Therapy.

I strongly believe that parent participation is ideal whenever possible and I offer parents tools and guidance on how to provide support for the emotional, behavioral, and relationship needs of their child. Depending on the situation, I may recommend working with the parent and child together. We can discuss what will work the best for your family. When working with children, I prefer to work with them in person. Parent sessions can be in person or online.

I work with children, teens, and families seeking support with many issues including:
  • ADHD
  • Aggressive/oppositional behaviors
  • Anxiety
  • Being easily overwhelmed/highly sensitive
  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Parent/child difficulties
  • Perfectionism

Couples

Love consists in this, that two solitudes protect and touch and greet each other.

— Rainer Maria Rilke

I work with premarital and long-term couples who want to improve communication, build trust, and connect more meaningfully. I aim to be sensitive about the way differing family cultures can impact relationship dynamics. I am LGBTQ+ affirmative.

When couples feel disappointment or despair about the quality of their relationship, therapy can help increase insight, understanding, and constructive solutions. When couples learn how to address difficulties with more effective communication, they make space for greater intimacy, warmth, and respect.

Ultimately, increased empathy and understanding helps couples to let go of adversarial positions and create an alliance together around honoring and nurturing the relationship.

I work with couples seeking support with:
  • Changing established patterns
  • Communication challenges
  • Difficulty making significant decisions
  • Intimacy
  • Life transitions, empty nest issues
  • Parenting issues
  • Premarital counseling

Online Therapy

I am currently offering sessions either in person and virtually, either via video or phone. For most video sessions, I use a secure, HIPAA compliant platform that is easy and convenient to use.
